Olympic Theatre

The Olympic Theatre was operating by 1912 in an old brick storefront, likely from about 1890. There is a round-fronted stage at the rear, presumably for live acts. Still appearing on the 1933 map, with a shortened stage, it was still open in 1939 but had closed by 1940.

It later became a Breadeaux Pizza restaurant, which is itself now closed. Judging by the style of sign that Breadeaux re-used, it may have been open well into the 1950’s.

I guess Breadeaux was reusing a later businesses sign. Maybe it became a bar or something?

Looking closer at my photos, and some others, that is definitely an aluminum poster case on the left. Does not look pre-1940. I think this must have re-opened, perhaps under another name.

Yes I Believe The Theater Ended Up Closing In 1939. This Was Followed By The Grand Opening Of The Nearby Lenox Theatre In February 1940, Which Will Have Its CinemaTreasures Page Soon.
