The Strand Theatre operated on the west side of Granbury’s downtown square. It appears to have opened as the Mazuma Theatre and became the Princess Theatre in 1919. Scherer and Nelson took on the Princess changing its name to the Strand Theatre in 1920.
On January 19, 1933, the Strand Theatre ended its operation moving to the two-year old Palace Theatre on the south side of the Granbury square. The Palace Theatre had gone out of business in December of 1932 and the Strand Theatre operator continued as the Palace Theatre. The former Strand Theatre’s location was retrofitted for other retail purposes.
