Located in the Everton district to the northeast of Liverpool city centre. The Prince’s Picture Palace was opened by George Prince in 1911. It was later re-named Prince’s Picture Hall and in 1915 it became the Prince’s Picturedrome. In 1918 it was renamed Lytton Cinema. It had a stage which was 6ft deep and one dressing room.

In 1929 it was sold to Arthur Dolan who presented pictures and variety. Around 1930 it was equipped with a British Thomson-Houston(BTH) sound system. By 1937 Arthur Dolon had passed away and it was operated by the Liverpool based Regent Enterprises chain. Later independently operated, CinemaScope was installed in 1955.

Despite its close location to the huge 3,000+ seat Royal Hippodrome Theatre which went over to films in 1930 when it was taken over by Gaumont British, the Lytton Cinema survived until its closure in 1959. It was used as a tobacco warehouse and then as a workshop until it was later demolished.
