The Union Theater was the leading African-American movie theatre in the cotton-growing community of Grenada. It likely was built as the Gem Theatre and later rebranded as the Grand View Theater. In addition to movies, the theatre had live events including music and speeches. The Union Theatre was still operating in 1957. The building was still standing as of 2020
