The second theatre for the city of Headland after the nearby Pastime Theatre closed is the Dreamland Theatre. The theatre opened as the New Theatre on March 3rd, 1926 with Sid Chaplin in “Charlie’s Aunt” and an “Our Gang” (Little Rascals) short on its opening day and the day ahead. Unfortunately, this theatre was not a huge success to the city of Headland, and the theatre ended up closing in the spring of 1927. This was followed by the more-popular Royal Theatre (later Joyce Theatre) in which opened a year later in 1928 which ran for a grand total of 30 years.
