The photos here are actually for the currently-open CMX Old Orchard Luxury, instead of the CMX Market Cinemas Old Orchard (formerly the Regal Gardens 7-13), which closed in 2023.

Note the position of the vertical part of the signage in relation to the top of the building in the photo I just uploaded from a recent visit.

While the CMX Market Cinemas does appear to have closed, I believe the photos are for the CMX VIP/Luxury Cinemas, which are still open.

CMX stands for Cinemex, but it’s their US brand.

This location was not opened by Cineplex Odeon — the other location was (the 7-12). This location was opened by Loews Theatres.

December 16th, 1994 grand opening ad in the photo section. It was opened by Cineplex Odeon.

These passed to regal and are now closed pending remodeling by a new operator.

I worked there the first year they were open. Never again. Cineplex Odeon may have been a decent chain, but they treated their employees like crap.

That being said, the original six screens were beautiful. The last movie I saw there was “This is It,” and it was on one of the new screens. They seemed pretty decent, nothing to really write home about.

An article in a 1995 issue of Boxoffice says that Cineplex Odeon opened their 7-plex in 1994.

The Loew’s 6-plex was an addition that came in 1997.

1-6 featured an autumn decor and early on experimented with delivering food on carts in the auditoriums. It opened in December 1994.

Fandango shows 1-6 open as “Regal Gardens Stadium 1-6”.

Regal shows that the 7-13 is their theatre now but doesn’t mention the 1-6. Did they just up and close that?

This was the original 7 screen theater, before theaters 1-6 was added. Once theaters 1-6 was added this became theaters 7-13.
