Located in the Centre Gueliz in the centre of the city Marrakesh. The Cinema Le Colisee was opened in 1953 as a single screen cinema with 475-seats. It was built to the plans of French cinema architect Georges Peynet. The seating was in orchestra and balcony levels.
It is an important cinema in Marrakesh and screens International and National film productions. It is also home to the International Film Festival in Marrakesh. It was later renovated and 3 more screens were added, each with 75-seats. The original auditorium now has 250-seats. The cinemas are colour coded in Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. It reopened around 2018 with modern digital projectors (Eclair Colour)
