The Silver Screen Cinema Café launched April 5, 1996 with “Babe,” “Jumanji,” and “Bridges of Madison County.” The independently-run venue closed as the Silver Screen Cinema Café (and Comedy Club) on February 26, 2009 at the end of a leasing month with “Bolt,” and “Marley and Me” splitting with “Seven Pounds” and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”

The original marquee had the phrase “Dinner theater and comedy club” underneath the theater name in smaller print. However, it really was not “dinner theater” in the traditional sense of the term so at some point the owners amended the name to the Silver Screen Cinema Cafe. I attended several films there and it was a pleasant experience.

The theatre was converted into a fitness center which subsequently closed in January 2020.
