Located in Annfield Plain to the west of Chester le Street, County Durham. The King’s Hall Theatre was opened by 1912. It was designed by Gateshead based architects L.H. Armour & A.L. Armour. In 1914 it was re-named King’s Picture Pavilion. Around 1929 it was equipped with a British Talking Picture(BTP) sound system which was later replaced by a Western Electric( WE) sound system. CinemaScope was installed in the mid-1950’s. By 1960 it was operated as a part time bingo club, with films on other evenings. In 1961 it became a full time bingo club. It has since been demolished.
