The 1907 Sanborn shows an ‘Electric Theatre’ operating in this small building. It’s unclear whether this was the name or just a generic designation.

The building, a two-story brick structure was built sometime in the late-1880’s or early 1890’s as a saloon, with a small house in the western portion. The saloon was still shown on the 1901 map. The entrance was in an angled cut-out. Seating must have been very limited.

By 1914, the theatre had been replaced by the Arcanum Bottling Works. The building was later used as a hotel, until its sale in 1963 to the local grange. It is now the home of the local historical society.
