The 1909 Sanborn shows a large airdome on the corner of S. 4th Street and E. South Street. This location had for many years been the site of a large livery stable, but this may have been destroyed in a fire since the 1902 map shows only a simple wooden horse stall set up along the west and south sides of the lot.

This airdome was fairly substantial. There was a wooden ticket office with a little awning at the northeast corner of the lot. The whole lot was fenced, and a wooden stage structure provided with scenery and electric footlights was placed in the center of the south side. For some reason, the northwest corner of the property had a rectangular cut-out. The entire floor seems to have been planked.

The airdome probably failed to compete with purpose built indoor theatres, and the 1921 map shows a small Standard of Indiana gas station and a more substantial office and printing room for the Washington Herald on this lot. All are now gone, and there is a badly paved parking lot which looks quite old, and serves a depressing little prefab building.
