Located in Langholm, Dunfries-Shire. The 400-seat Argyle Cinema was a conversion of a church building and it opened as a cinema by 1947. The proscenium was 18ft wide. It was equipped with a British Thomson-Houston(BTH) sound system. By 1958 it had been equipped with a British Acoustic(BA) sound system.

By 1963 it had been renamed Eskdale Cinema (not to be confused with the Eskdale/Central Cinema located in the Eskdale Hotel which has its own page on Cinema Treasures). This newly named cinema had been equipped with a Kalee sound system and the proscenium had been widen to 24ft for CinemaScope and the seating capacity reduced to 310. It was still open in 1966, but had closed by 1969. The building was still standing in 1985.
