Following a Court ruling in his favor on 25th November 1988, Regent owner Leon Fink wasted no time before he sent the building demolishers in. (He had already gutted the interior). I took this photo just four weeks later – a few days before Xmas 1988 – from the corner of Bathurst and George Streets. It shows the footpath hoarding in place, with scaffolding reaching the top of the frontage. A semi-transparent green shroud covers the corpse.
