The 400-seat Enterprise Theatre was opened by 1926. By April 1934 it had been renamed Shaw Theatre, still with 400-seats. By 1950 it was listed with 600-seats and in the 1957 edition of Film Daily Yearbook it had 1,022-seats!

Did it really had 1,022 seats? I don’t know if they had that amount of seats. I’m sure the yearbook had a huge error.

1,022 was the reported seating capacity of the Leaf Theatre when it opened in 1949. The FDY probably accidentally switched the capacities of the two theaters. Such mistakes were not uncommon in the Yearbooks.

Yeah, that definitely has to be their mistake. Speaking of the Leaf, before the Leaf Theatre opened in 1949, is the Roxy or the Shaw the more dominant theater for the city of Quincy?
