The Dreamland Theater, as advertised in the La Crosse Tribune, opened December 12, 1911, with “Fortunes Of War”, a Thomas H. Ince film and “Little Girl”, a short subject.

On October 8, 1919, there was an announcement of a new theater (it turned out to be the Riviera Theatre) to be built across the street from the old Dreamland Theater. Frank Zimmlick, one of the stockholders of the new theatre, had been running the Dreamland Theater and would be the manager of the yet unnamed Riviera Theatre.

The only appearance of the Dreamland I’ve found in the trade publications is a passing mention in the January 4, 1919 Moving Picture World, which said it had booked the same programs as the Bijou Theatre.
