Star Theatre

This theatre began as a Presbyterian Church, which was built sometime before 1886. It was a simple brick structure with some Gothic influence. By 1913, the steeple had been taken down, and it was in use as a gymnasium.

The 1920 map shows it as the Star Theatre, with stage and scenery in a tin-clad wooden addition to the rear. The 1925 map shows it still in operation, although the Wayne Theatre across the street is identified as the New Star Theatre, likely meaning it was in the process of replacement.

The building has been added onto over the years, and looks rather woebegone. It seems to be in use by the local newspaper.
