On April 30, 1955, Boxoffice reported that Mr. and Mrs. Jewel Ownbey had reopened their Newport Drive-In for the season.
The 1955-56 Theatre Catalog included the Newport, capacity 200, owner J. H. Ownbey.
A 1955 aerial photo showed a small, narrow drive-in southwest of Newport on US 2. It was intact in 1965 but long gone in 1983. Today the site, just east of a Lutheran church, holds a scattered group of small buildings.
