Opening in the 1990’s, the Baymeadows 8 Theater was one of Cineplex Odeon’s initial offerings in the Jacksonville area. When it’s parent organization, Loews, folded it was picked up by Carmike who made some renovations and used it as a discount venue. Unable to compete with the stadium seating cinemas, the Baymeadows 8 Theater closed in the early-2000’s and is currently being used as a storage facility.
