Monroe Twin Theatres

The Plaza Twin Cinema was located at the Monroe Plaza Shopping Center and opened in 1971. However, it did receive closure for a short time after opening in early-1972, but it reopened on April 12 of that same year.

It was operated under the Monroe Theatres chain who also operated the Monroe Drive-In and the Troy Theatre led by Wayne Shields.

Throughout the remainder of the 1970’s and into the 1980’s led to several name changes as well as a couple of short closures.

In May 1984, it was taken over by a British family from Northamptonshire led by Mr. Dan and Mrs. Lee Jenkins along with their two grown up teens Paul and Lisa.

Its closing date has not been found yet.
