Theatre

This theatre appears on the 1916 Sanborn, in a two-story brick structure which was likely newly built, replacing a wooden bowling alley from the 1909 map.

The facade is very attractive white glazed brick with green accents. A ‘Stevens’ nameplate is at the top, and may have been the name of the theatre, or that of the person it was built for.

This theatre was more substantial than the operation to the west, and featured a balcony as well as a stage and scenery, indicating a capacity for live acts. It is unclear when the theater closed, but photos from around 1940 show it as a Rexall drug store.

It is currently fairly well cared-for, and used by a law firm.
