News About This Theater
The historic Lincoln Theater in Port Angeles, Washington was opened in 1916 with 950 seats. In the 1941 and 1943 editions of Film Day Yearbook it was listed as (Closed). It had reopened by 1950.
Later converted into a triple screen theatre with seating provided for 177 & 163 in the former orchestra level and 179 in the former balcony. It was almost closed in May 2001, but at the last minute a deal was worked out between Sun Basin Theaters and the owner of the building. The 519-seat triplex was closed in 2014.
In June 2016 it was purchased by the Marchant family with plans to convert it into a community arts venue. Seating will be provided for 450 and a 2019 opening is envisaged. The theater will have a single screen for film plus a stage for theater, music, comedy etc. A reopening in 2020 is envisioned.

The Lincoln Theatre of Port Angeles, Washington did NOT close in May 2001. It came within four days of closing, but it was then granted a lease reprieve. After 3 months of “negotiations”, Sun Basin Cinemas purchased the building housing Lincoln Theatre. I guarantee you that it is still in operation!
very interesting view of the theater from the same focal point over the years:
The original seating capacity for the Lincoln Theatre was 950.
A deal is in the works for a music and theater venue.
Status should be closed. This theatre is not on the Sun Basin website.
The actual total seating of 519. The theater was reconfigured with two screens on the main level and one upstairs in the former balcony. East main floor screen has 177 seats, west main floor screen has 163 seats and the upstairs screen has 179 seats.
