Located in Ormskirk, Lancashire. The Working Men’s Institute was opened on 13th January 1868. It contained an 800-seat assembly room upstairs on the first floor, and also a reading room, a billiard room and a library. It was designed by London based architect R. Downes. Local architect Captain Sudbury was in charge of the building. In the early-1900’s it began screening films. It was still screening films into the 1920’s.

It had been demolished by May 2022 when the foundation stones were revealed during excavation to build a new bus station.
