Legion Theatre

This theatre was almost certainly located in the Memorial Hall constructed in 1925 to honor World War I veterans and war dead. This was an attractive brick structure with sandstone details, and contained an auditorium or hall in the rear.

It was listed in 1926 as the Cosmo Theatre, and by 1929 had become the Legion Theatre, likely operated under the auspices of the American Legion. It seems to have closed in 1930.

Starting in 1931, there is a confusing series of references to a Casino Theatre, which may have been a new name, or a separate structure. It appears to have only operated in 1931, but remained listed as closed from 1932 to 1939 with various capacities. Any confirmation would be appreciated.

The Memorial Hall today is in fine shape, and is used as city hall.
