This was the first location of the short-lived Dreamland Theatre. It was opened by James V. Bryson in 1907 in an old two-story brick building dating to before 1883, and most recently used as a drug store.

This was actually a well-designed early facility, with a sloped floor. It began by offering one show a week, but soon moved to two. Business was apparently quite good, despite the competition from several other early theaters. Unfortunately, a lease dispute forced the operation to move one block north, into a smaller building. This has its own listing.

The closure happened sometime after March 1908, when this was listed as having 400 seats, a physical impossibility at the other location. The August 1908 map shows the space as vacant.

The building reverted to retail use, but this block was devastated by urban renewal, and is now home to an ugly bank and a vast parking area.
