Yeah,Bob you are right when my old theatres closed I was very close to putting almost the something on my old marquee at Columbia Square Cinemas or Columbia 1 and 2 theaters I could get to the letters easy,but decided not too. All they put was “CLOSED” and the “C” fell off over time.I got it.so it was"LOSED",Sad for a place that gave so much enjoyment.
The 1-85 is long gone.It is on CT. There is a six screen Drive-in in Atlanta,but Stan Malone would know so much more on your question.I think the HWY 85 is gone.
I know this is a bit off topic,but also in Meridan I noticed what I thought was an ABC THEATRE in a shopping center right off the interstate ,like the Royal Drive-in you could see it from I-20 and I think,this was 1975 when i went out to Dallas,that “JAWS” was playing?
Yep,that is it.the fence and all.I guess it was 1992 when i passed it.I can’t believe it is still there,but being so close 1-20 maybe that has kept anyone from buying it.I figured it would have been long gone.thanks Silicon Sam.

I try and dig up these old Drive-ins in and around Georgia and the Carolinas and hope you or Chuck 1231 or Bob can add the needed touches and you guys do a great job.Even with my misspellings sometimes.
In 1956 it parked 100 cars and was owned by Clyde Cannon.According to Motion Picture almanac. I think the Atlanta Constitution did a feature story on this drive-in when re-opened.I have the article somewhere.
Had alot of great times working at GCC and the midnight shows were always a challenge for managers,first getting good movies,I had a good track record.sometimes the stinking bookers didn’t even know what i was talking about.“DAWN OF THE DEAD” along with"ROCKY HORROR" had to be the two biggest midnight money makers for GCC.

Cineplex bought out Plitt theatres,but i had already jumped ship for GCC.

Love to have that one-sheet and 8 by 10 color stills.kids today have idea what a real theatre was.this my friends was a real movie house.
