All of this is Great, but it is a crying shame Charlotte let ALL her downtown theatres be torn down, for progress.Atlanta was smart enough to save a couple of Downtown Theatres; is Charlotte so uppity that they just didn’t care!
Ron ,Interesting answer to your Question on Sunday showings can be found in an old Motion Picture Almanac.I have one from 1956 and they have everystate and Blue laws on Sundays. If you could ever get ahold of one these Almanacs you would have any Question Answered on Sunday showings.IF you have a state in Question I would be glad type down the Blue laws for that state in Question.
PatriciaNC,Found mine in an old theatre along with two Television Almanacs from 1960 to 61,they cover everything about TV stations in the U.S. and they aren’t small all of them including the Motion Picture Almanac have over 900 pages.I saw on a site on CT where you can buy the same book I have or another year.have no idea where it was at,but someone was selling them. They are Hardback books.

MarkL. Boxoffice April 1990 Page 47,under MIDWEST NEWS-COLUMBUS,Ohio. They Should have wrote" Whitehall,a suburb of Columbus"guess an Editor was out to lunch.Outside of Columbus,Who has heard of Whitehall.
Cinema East Theatre according to BOXOFFICE is located in COLUMBUS, I assume Whitehall is a small town in the metro area, hence Columbus,Ohio.who has ever heard of Whitehall.Boxoffice states it seated 1600 people. My mistake was “Harlem Nights” played Jan.1 1990,not 1984.
