Don’t have any. I just submitted the Plitt MAll 1 and 2 theatres in Asheville on CT.Have a few Drive-ins also to do if no one else in Asheville will do them.
August 7 1977 sees ASHEVILLE WEST playing Gergory Peck in a pretty good military movie, not quite up to par with PATTON,but Peck’s MacARTHUR is playing at the Asheville West. On the other screen for some reason,“ONE ON ONE” which is also playing at the other Irwin-Fuller Theatre the Merrimon 1 and 2 Theatres.Asheville, must be a heck of a basketball city!
August 7 1977 “STAR WARS” is still running strong with a special Late Show Fri-Sat at 11:45pm. sadly on the other screen is very weak Robby Benson film “ONE ON ONE”.
Also Showing at the Plaza “POLTERGEIST”, “HANK PANKY”,“PENITENTIARY” “MOUNTAIN FAMILY ROBINSON”, “NOSFERATU”[one week only],“CUBA” and “THE VISITOR”. While all the other theatre chains in town had matinees every day the IRVIN-FULLER Theatres for some strange reason never did.
I slipped in a Exit door of the REGENCY EXCHANGE in Augusta, and both theatres being GCC the concessionstand in both theatres are a perfect match. Thanks for the photos chuck 1231.I took a bunch of pictures of the Exchange, need to get Nick Dimaggio to get them on.
It is listed as COLUMBIA SQUARE CINEMAS in Augusta,Ga. It will always be Columbia 1 and 2 to me because it was a nice large Twin theatre before UA and Georgia Theatres turned it into a lousy small screen quad.
man, I love that Story thank goodness Georgia only gets a rare dusting of snow.I can’t believe someone read those readings.I got a couple of guys I worked with a GCC Russell Smeak{he’s a member on CT and Barry Morrison who said he was logging on to CT .but hasn’t both Managers i will tell your story if Russell hasn’t read it.“JUST SEND THE USHERS UP THERE!” outta make T-Shirts.
Thanks Bob.Tlsloews in Nashville mentioned one time he thought they moved their home office to Nashville.I know CARMIKE is out of Columbus,I often wondered if Martin became CARMIKE.Georgia, especially small towns seem to have a Martin owned Theatre.
IN TODAY’S Augusta Chroncile,June 19 2010 there is artice about the work being done on the Georgia theatre in Athens.I am sure you can read it on line.wwwaugustachroncile.com
Wonder where they dumped all the carbon rods.I have found reels tossed in nearby woods when i visit old Drive-in sites.

“MIDWAY” was in SENSAROUND as was “BATTLESTAR GALATICA”.But they must have played at a different theatre,Joey.

Wayne thanks for a great Story it is always a pity to see no comments on a Theatre THE PARAMOUNT desrves one.
It is amazing how the front looks a bit like Columbia 1 and 2 especially the glass,Box office and one-sheet frames.
