No, we had no agreements. However, there was a small place that the managers could usually park. The Fire department gave us a break.Alot of the employees at the Imperial,as well I bet in St.Louis and Nashville used the city bus.Otherwise you took a quick break and fed the parking metters.
This town had three Drive-ins . Airport Drive-in,STAR Drive-in and Midway Drive-in. The Star Drive-in parked 315 cars making it Galax’s largest Drive-in. It was owned by C.W.Curtis who also owned the Midway Drive-in.
I have been sitting down and trying to remember every theatre in Georgia i have visited, took pictures and get on CT.so many small towns left to do.I know you have hundreds just in Middle Tenn.I would like Nick to put them on,but he is so busy with his Tampa theatres.I guess you saw Robin’s post on National Hills.
SiliconSam. That is it I have a picture of it in my Drive-in photo Album.I don’t think CT would print it because of the word spelt.I should have taken the time to remove it,It wasn’t a very dirty word.but refered to Gays. F—s.
You would have to go and dig around in the various places in town. There might even be a book on old Buildings in Nashville at the local bookstore.I know Augusta has several regional books that shows a lot of the old city and that includes the long lost movie theatres here.Give Borders a try I know a city the size of Nashville has such a book. Take it easy.mike.
If that is the case then i could add the Tate Center at UGA in Athens, but I don’t consider it a movie theatre even though they show movies DVD i am sure. Can’t add the Tate Center.
Well,Kirk, In 1956 it was a new thing for the town of Milo. It parked 450 cars making not the largest Drive-in in Maine, but in the top ten. It was owned still by Mrs.E. Mills.
Mike, here is a bit more info for you. In 1956 it parked 400 cars and was owned by Fred Munson. There was an Ark – View Drive-in also in that town in Kansas.

Bob,my info came from 1956 Motion Picture Almanac so it probably changed hands through the years.

Tsloews, don’t be shy put down what you remember we all love reading stories.
It parked 450 cars and was owned by Crescent Amusement Co. They owned a couple of Drive-ins in the Music City.
Tisloews, going to have to do some research.
Why would someone take a picture of the back of the 20 plex.I got a feeling it looks like our Regal 20 here in Augusta.

Here is another one that i don’t know is a real movie theatre.Maybe it is to some CT members.
