My 1956 Motion pictureAlmamac has REVEL Drive-in,could be a misprint. Thanks Nick,It is just when you hit the small towns it is so hard to get the facts.
BOB, that sounds right,It is a major intersection before going out to 1-26. A couple of years ago the screen was still up with a few white panels left.
Nick, this Drive-in the CLOVER-LEAF is right in town,no rural roads.
Bob.I will call the Bethaham Community Center,a black center for history of local African-americans.They would probably be the only source because THE AUGUSTA CHRONCILE has no ads what so ever on the BOOKER or Hi-De-Ho Drive-ins.Thanks for any help.
well, if they booked “GATOR” with “GONE WITH THE WIND” they would have had two Georgia based flicks. What double feature,Wish Burt,A Georgia Boy could see it.
usually a manager would never allow to tell the public how many seats you have, and you got the box office girl to tell you.Times Change I guess. that was always a closely guarded secret at the theatres i worked at.
anyone into “JAWS” needs to go to the IMPERIAL THEATRE site ON CT,in AUGUSTA,Ga. and see an ad that was NOT done anywhere on any newspaper ad.It is May 27,2010 post. I think you shark fans should be impressed.
Yeah, your right,it is just that i love old theatres so much,{big surprize} that I want to read more, and feel others do,that is why i At least try for a paragraph when I introduce a new theatre and I know there is a lot of filler in those stories.
I think you have it.300 cars is alot for a town that size, but i guess there is no set limits on cars. The Wilkes Theatre{on CT} was a Martin Theatre. It is about 40 miles from my home.My 1956 Motion Picture Almanac has a Washington Drive-in listed under the Martin banner. Thanks.
It was just really strange,Albany,is pretty good size city.
This is really strange.I checked my 1956 Motion picture almanac a not one drive-in is listed in this Capital city.Must have been a misprint.
I have a call out to CT member Ray Hutto,he might be the only one to be able to help us.
I can take the picture and have Nick post it.
Bob,I think it is going be hard to get alot of info on these small towns.

I don’t think it was open until 1975.I am pretty sure about that.My 1956 Motion Picture Almanac has it still open as late as 1956.
This one will be a hard one to find info on,but i am looking.
Any more info would be great, but this place is so far away i don’t know if it will get any more info added.
Any more info would be great.
Anyone from S.C. is welcome to add more.
Not too far off 1-26 Newberry is located the drive-in was at a crossroad with red lights. It was used to park mobile homes last time i went through.
