Nick, I will give you a little help.
EAST BUFFALO Drive-in Parked 389 cars and was owned by Dale Elleman. i have a 40th Street Drive in ,but no 28th Street. In my 1956 Almanac. Nothing on Bonita Drive-in in the Almanac.
For the record there was a BLUE BIRD THEATRE CHAIN in the Carolinas. My cousin, Ray Rogers managed one, THE CAROLINA 1 and 2{penthouse}. In Hendersonville.N.C.
I saw “LEGAL EAGLES” there after it reopened as a triple. I had tears in my eyes. And it wasn’t Robert Redford that brought them on. A great Theatre ruined for a fast buck.“LEGAL EAGLES” was on the original Large screen, but it wasn’t the same.
I will put it in my will to you. Nick has one i gave him I think 1960. If I had another I would mail it you for free. oh, It might cost you a 007 onesheet.
It was either that or they had enough of theatre employees from other theatre chains changing their Marquee. I had it done to me by the gang from NATIONAL HILLS,redoing the Marquee at COLUMBIA 1 and 2 which served me right because several months earlier me and some Plitt Theatre guys rode to the HILLTOP DRIVE -in And Changed their Marquee to something I cannnot print on CT. Don’t you love the real Theatre business 1974-80.
Joe,There was a Bon-Air Drive-in there and the ORANGEBURG Drive-in there along with a theatre called CINEMA III. Any info. I have theatre ads,but that is about all from an old newspaper. I guess the CinemaIII was three screens, even though the ad just had one movie listed.
Just talked to Nick. He is back and really wants to get going on these theatres and catch up with you. He asked about you and Robin. He should be on soon.He was watching 2001. Which I was watching when he called. It is on TCM tonight. Nick, This was Drive-in I was Telling you about.
Nick, when i was in Tampa, you showed me this old Drive-in site?

Boy, Nick what a let down. “2010” I never should watched. It did play at NATIONAL HILLS on the same screen of 2001.But I don’t think it was in 70mm.

Hey, I told you there were of Ton Tampa theatres on CT.
WELCOME BACK, Mr.DiMaggio.
My 1956 Almamac has a PIONEER DRIVE-In there parking 350 cars.
Could this Drive-in have been called the VEGAS DRIVE-in. Drive-in in that town in the 50’s,that parked 350 cars, just wonderning.
Never saw a lot of Hills in Flordia, but the HILL DRIVE-in parked 250 cars and was owned by Nat Williams in 1956.
Yes,Chuck, In 1956 it parked 300 cars and was owned by C.W. Schroeder.
The Crescent Drive-in parked 400 cars and in the late fifties it was owned by O.M. Kirkeby.
You know Nick, I bet Charlie might be able to put some story to this odd entry.
