I just want to get on before Robin and explain to the gang I am sorry i missed the COLUMBIA 1 and 2 reunion party, but that late show call for that show really messed me up. I had planned to drive over for a few hours and return, but I had to stay. i knew when the call was at 2pm it might screw up my COLUMBIA 1and2 reunion. Robin, I will help you next time with a get together from my old gang. I think between the two of us we can have a pretty good turn out.
Before Robin gets on I want too say i really wanted to make the IMPERIAL party, but I had to work that show, that I had planned to go to the party, but they kept me on the call. I know I missed a great time with the gang, but Robin I will help you with the next one. We will have to plan it where it is in the center of town ,like at the mall area. You and Me both live a good ways from most of our invites. I have an old flyer from a old reunion party we could use,or at least look at.
I wanted to get on before Robin did and let everyone know I was sorry I couldn’t make the NATIONAL HILLS, COLUMBIA SQUARE and IMPERIAL Party. I had planned when I got cut from the show call to drive there for at least an hour or two,but i got put on the Sound Call and had to stay the entire day. I work sound maybe three times a year. I know none of this makes sense to non-union people, but that is show business. I really would have been there and ate two big hamburgers with Cathy and Bill. Robin, I will help you with the next reunion somewhere around Augusta Mall, certainly a central location. I have a flyer I kept from the 80’s.we can maybe use it.
Crockett,Texas is suppose to have a beautiful restored downtown theatre. I have a Classmate from High School that lives there and she said it was a gem. Didn’t know about the Rio drive-in.
Strange. It is listed in 1956 Motion picture Almanac but with no info on cars it holds or who owns it.1,000 cars seems alot for such a small city.Don’t make sense.
So Ripshin, you guys had “SHAKE AND BAKE” under one roof. if they had senssurround on EARTHQUAKE like we did at the IMPERIAL in Augusta that must have been a wild event.

At one time there was Dutch Square Twin Theatre.Pretty nice theatres not to be a major chain. I think where this 14 screen monster is at use to be the home of anice twin theatre.
Had a friend visit the church that now uses SOUTHGATE CINEMA for a home and he went up to the booth and all the equipment was still there to show movies. I had a feeling it was still up there. It was one of the few booths in this city i never put a foot in. It was Union house for a long time. Local 518.Only one living member still around.
Walt Disney’s BLACKBEARD’S GHOST opens to nice run at Daniel Village. Most Disney product plays here with National Hills theatre picking up some releases.
Yeah, I noticed he had 510,but my book says 425.I have had CT readers tell me a good many of these books used, the parking on cars is sometimes way off.
It might just be me,but when I present a new theatre to CT readers I like to add a bit more than what was mentioned above. But that is just me. Especially if one lives in the area.
TLSLOEWS,I have read on CT where you have discussed theatres with Cliff Carson. I think it was about an Atlanta Theatre. You get a chance you outta look at his art work, plus he has a great liitle Super 8 movie about a movie theatre and two kids getting a ticket. It is on one of his Atlanta theatre sites.
