Nick, Robin gave me a bunch of old Plitt theatre office memos and one had the Hillsboro Triple with a picture of a display for “MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER”,would you like it? I don’t mind mailing down to you for your collection.
Be hard to do it here since both of us were lucky not to have worked at these cinemas, but I try to add movies that played here when i come across them.
Robin,in that stack of material you gave me was PROMENADE stationary letter head.would you want it back just to keep.It was in Mint condition. If not you know i will take care of it. I also liked that list of things to do at opening, during the show work, and closing.Did your Mr.Anderson come up with all of that.He must have thought you all were stupid.like i said earlier,I would have lasted a week or so with him.
Nick, I know i gave you too many theatres to do! The Skyland Arts Cinema was in Hendersonville, not Forest City,I put notice on that on the Skyland Arts site,so maybe CT will fix the town.Surprized someone on CT didn’t catch it before I did. You STILL ARE the best at getting articles on CT.
Yeah,we met at a Western Film fair back in the 90’s. His favorite movie was 2001 so that did it,plus like me,he had a strange habit, that i honestly thought only Nick and I had about exploring old Drive-ins and old Theatres.A few we were able to get in.Nick and his friend Charlie hit the Flordia backroads and put on a very impressive VHS old Drive-ins and walk-ins open or closed together. I need to get mine on DVD soon.He is a big help putting my chopped up material on CT.
Robin, You have Great pictures of this theatre you MUST get them posted and also try and put COULMBIA 1 and 2 on for me.And get Cathy to start with the stories.Maybe Dick is reading this?
Boy,Nick,i am sorta glad i live in a medium size city, you have your work cut out for you and we are ALL waiting for another story, just wish more CT folks would read your writings.Maybe, they do and don’t comment.
Robin, Thanks for a great ABC/PLITT THEATRE REUNION 2010. The pictures from our party on the NATIONAL HILLS THEATRE site are Great. We will have another reunion for all of our theatres here.
Oh, TSLOEWS you were there in SPIRIT note the DRINK robin and T are downing. It was a toast to you and all out old Theatre dawgs that WORKED in the Business. GREAT PARTY ROBIN,and i think If and when we do another one i think i can get most of the1973-1979 crowd there.
Robin, I got the pictures and will make 8 by 10 copies and mail the pictures back to you. That one picture Bill had of National Hills theatre taken from the booth and showing a sold house and color cartoon on the screen i hope he makes me a copy. TLSLOEWS…I had to squezze in that dang red coat.Should have worn my GCC coat it’s dark blue and looks good. But it was a ABC THEATRE reunion. Robin, Like i told you TLSLOEWS wants some stories on Atlanta’s Theatres! Jump to it.GET Diane and Cathy on CT.
It wasn’t cool for Norman that night.he was pretty much a kid himself, but could run a booth. My one change over wouldn’t have went over well at the FOX theatre in Atlanta, but for a small mountain town we got no gripes.
Oh come on,you did this to me on some Drive-in about holding BOATS! LOL. I hope to be adding TRI CITY DRIVE in, MIDWAY DRIVE in and SKYLAND ARTS CINEMA this weekend if Nick is able to get them on CT.Nick, got THE DREAMLAND on ,but i really need more research on that Theatre.
Robin, SATURDAY REUNION is almost here.even if we have 6 or 7 it will be a good time. ABC/PLITT THEATRES kick ASS. 1974- whenever you guys quit in hotlanta.
Sean has a love of theatres.More so than his brother and two sisters. He worked in the business for awhile running the booth, becoming Assistant Mgr,but found out he made more in the booth hourly than on salary. He later worked as a waiter in Dallas Texas at a cinema that served food, Tony Romo of the Cowboys left him a 50.00 tip for a couple of drinks, and that was after Sean told him he was a big FALCON fan. I told Sean he should have told Tony he was a big COWBOY fan,but he couldn’t.Go Birds.
Our Concessionstand girls did it in their heads or on a sheet of paper. We were 80.00 short one night at Regency.Found out a new hire was pocketing some of the cash.
Don’t ask how we made up the shortage, you probably know.

Iwish we would have thought of that.
Well, in 1956 it parked 300 cars so it must have enlarged since above it is listed at 500 cars! It was owned by Phil Isley theatres.
I think the PASTIME is a dinner theatre too, like the PAL theatre in LOUISVILLE,GA.
