A restored 70mm print of “El Cid” was shown in 1993 at the Avalon Theatre in Washington, D.C. If that’s when you went to college…..then perhaps that’s the theater you saw it at?

This is a wonderful story! Thanks to Mr. Delijani for his loving restoration of the Palace Theatre. Original paint colors, wallpaper arrangement, and new seats sounds great! I hope the State and Los Angeles can also be revitalized. I’ve enjoyed visiting all of them when in LA.

It reports theater’s owner may not be able to keep theater open, concerned about payment due bank on Aug 1. A group is hoping to turn it nonprofit. Paragraph about history:
The Strand has done a great job collecting memories. They have the original projector from 1920. They have ticket stubs and the original red seats. Some of the old movies can be found in the basement.
