Used for arts events, i.e. Coastal Currents programme during the summer when the vaults were opened up and People and Places exhibition this September. No cinema screenings to my knowledge.

The cinema was held in the Clonard Hall, a former school, and was a travelling cinema called the Majestic. Presumably it was the same Majestic that called at Killucan in Westmeath once a week during the 1950s to screen films.

On the Ritz’s birthday on the 28th of January 1963 a performance called “The Christmas Cracker” was held. The performances lasted four weeks, with surprise appearences from the likes of Sean Meaney.
