This photo shows (next to the Carnegie) Mister Kelly’s, a nightclub at East Bellevue Place and Rush St. that existed from 1953 to 1975. In 1966, patrons were escorted out of the club due to a fire that started inside. The club burned down, and the Mr. Kelly’s in this photo is the second one on the site. As of 2025, the Carnegie site is “Hugo’s Frog Bar” and the former Mr. Kelly’s is “Gibson’s Restaurant”. Both Hugo’s and Gibson’s are under the same ownership.
