Fifty years ago, March 31 1976, the Astor Theatre closed after being a Brandt theatre, for the first time. It re-opened 3 months later on June 29th with a double feature of “Earthquake” and “Airport ‘75”. It lasted through less than a year later and closed permanently in February 1977.
