Poitier had a busier presence in the Downtown movie palaces in 1960. “Porgy and Bess” continued until March at Hunts Cinestage. “All the Young Men” opened in September at Loew’s Broad. The RKO Palace had “Virgin Island” as the bottom half of a double feature, and; the retitled “Goodbye, My Lady” now called “The Boy and the Laughing Dog,” as the bottom half of a double feature. Also, a number of his old features were at second-run neighborhood theaters.
