“Stir Crazy” continued its first-run in 1981. Poitier directed his seventh film, “Hanky Panky,” reuniting him with Gene Wilder and his frequent acting buddy, Richard Widmark. The movie was opened in June at Eastland Mall and Loews Morse Road Twin. After, “Hanky Panky,” Poitier took a three-year break from the movies.
