Broadcasting organist Harold Ramsay was engaged to play the Wurlitzer organ with illuminated console for its first opening at the Ritz. The Wurlitzer organ chambers were situated within the ceiling above, Cromie used this area on various occasions depending on space available during design, as with his large Gaumont Palace Hammersmith for its Compton organ.
