The lucky franchisees of the Jerry Lewis Twin cut the ribbon on the latest cinema in that chain on December 21, 1972 - narrowly missing the Mall’s July 26, 1972 opening. But the fun was short-lived with Jerry Lewis leaving the project, Network Cinema Corp. disconnecting its phones in bankruptcy, and the cinema looking for a new operator just six months later closing in June of 1973. General Cinema would pick up the pieces in August of 1973.
