Dame Nellie Melba visited the Horsham Theatre in March 1927.

She attended a screening of ‘Beau Geste’ first. The Horsham Times declared she was “much impressed with the fine building.” Every seat in the 1100-capacity theatre was taken for her concert, and as several newspapers reported, some of them ‘motored over 50 miles to attend.’

Just a few months after Nellie Melba’s visit to Horsham, the Theatre hosted another singer, Elsa Stralia - Notes by Victorian Collections.
