Civic Theatre 216 Forest Road, Sydney, NSW
The theatre had originally opened to the public on the 17 April, 1916, as the Queens Theatre. Operated by Western Suburbs Cinemas Ltd. It was one of the largest cinemas in the suburbs of Sydney at the time.
Subsequent alterations in 1938 coincided with a change of name from the Queens Theatre to the Civic Theatre and was eventually taken over by Hoyt’s Theatres six years later in 1944, operating for the next three decades before closing #OnThisDay in 1969.
