U.S. 29 Diane Drive-In
The March 7, 1953 issue of Boxoffice, ran a small feature on the “Dian” 29 Drive-In, focusing on its fireplace. The first paragraph:
Patrons like to gather around the attractive brick fireplace in the concession building of the Dian 29 Drive-In Theatre, near Gastonia, N.C., when the weather is chilly even though the building has a modern air conditioning and heating system. Five-foot logs can be accommodated in the fireplace, and the fragrant scent of burning wood adds to the atmosphere of the concession. Patrons can view the picture through the large windows while eating.
