The Dendy, Collins St, Melbourne was opened in 1972 by the operators of the Brighton Dendy. The laneway entrance gave it very little street presence but it was popular into the 1980s. Under different ownership it began screening Chinese movies, then Adult movies until its closure in 1994. It had been noted as having Australia’s first single projector/platter system.
