The new balcony at Yarraville hall is near completion, and will be opened for the first time on Saturday, June 26, when a monster program is to be presented. On that occasion, to commemorate the opening of the balcony, the management have decided to give a month’s free ticket to the lady and gentleman in the balcony whose number is drawn from a barrel, and likewise to the successful lady and gentleman in the body of the hall. This offer applies for the one night only.
The program to be presented on the occasion promises to exceed anything yet shown locally. Last Saturday’s entertainment again drew a crowded house, and the audience was delighted with the turn by Lovell and Nolan, who proved themselves artists above the ordinary calibre.
To night’s attractions are many and varied. Messrs Martin and Pearson have been successful securing the Delsos, aerial acrobats and trapeze wonders, direct from leading theatre, who will appear in their death-defying swings and sensational dives. The act is a unique, novel and sensational one.
The special engagement is also announced of the renowned Australian tenor Granville Semmens, who is to appear in his own original composition, “Song and Harmony,” and other notable successes. The pictures include two stars of exceptional merit, “The Struggle,” 2OOO feet thrilling drama, and ‘“The Snare of Fate,” a beautiful drama.2500 in length. Other pictures include “The Bite,” one of Edison’s best, and “That Minstrel Man - a Keystone Cop comedy..
