I found this photo of the Rocket Drive-In which was dated “Nov 1951” amongst my late uncle’s belongings. I thought it was a cool image so I set out to find the location of the Rocket. My search led me to this website where I learned that the Rocket was in Las Cruces, NM. My uncle was from Ohio, however when he was in the Army he was stationed at White Sands Proving Grounds in NM in the early 1950’s, which ties things together.

The marquee is difficult to read in the photo, however I was able to determine that films playing were Without Honor (Laraine Day, 1951) and Mister Universe (Jack Carson, 1949)
