Here is a classic rare movie newspaper ad for the Capitola Theatre from my ‘Terry Photo’ movie ad collection. It was published on Sunday June 17 1956. In this ad with the second feature ‘On The Threshold Of Space’ It says ‘In the wonder of stereophonic sound’. I don’t think the Capitola Theatre ever had a stereo surround system put in around in the early 1950’s. They hardly had room to expand the screen for CinemaScope much less.
