The final built appearance of the St James Theatre Elizabeth Street frontage looked similar to this artists proposal (minus the name at the top). However the internal arrangements, apart from the main theater, were considerably altered as construction took place. Design was by the architectural firm of Henry E. White. Builders were Stuart Brothers. Final cost of the entire project was reportedly £750,000.
