The Derek Flint secret spy character only appeared twice in films, although both films had long first-run engagements. The use of recurring characters, whether monsters like Frankenstein or Godzilla or lifelike super dudes like Shaft or James Bond, were box office treasures to movie studios and theater exhibitors.
