Centre Gardens and Hall Archibald Street and Winnacott Street, Willagee, WA - 1956

Photo - Quote & announcement - Featured in Everyday Life No 27, Vol 27 - 1956 - This is Willagee’s new 12 thousand pound theatre which opens next month. With provision for CinemaScope & Wide-Screen, it has seating for 500 people with deck chairs and Steamer chairs for older patrons (Steamer chairs were used for reclining on the deck of luxury liners, hence the name ‘steamer’ chair).

Built to the most up-to-date design the theatre was financed by Acme Enterprises Syndicate. It will fill a long felt need in the district for a modern recreational facility - The new theatre is in Willagee’s planned community and shopping centre.
